Join a Committee
Did you know that being involved in a committee is the best way to get the most out of your HBAL membership?  Committees provide the opportunity to network with other members who share the same focus as you – meeting other members and supporting the Association.

Builder
The Builder Committee is the voice of the building industry in Central Kentucky and often meets with governmental officials to discuss issues relating to the construction industry.

  • Address specific builder issues
  • Recommend HBAL member to serve on LFUCG Codes committee
  • Keep membership informed about pertinent issues

Community Service
The Community Service Committee is responsible for strengthening the relationship between the Association and community organizations via community involvement.

Education
Charged with enhancing the educational opportunities and furthering the professional development of individuals in the home building industry, the Education Committee has oversight and responsibility for all educational seminars and programs offered by the association. The committee evaluates current programs, prioritizes requests for new programs and coordinates regular educational seminars for the membership

Governmental Affairs
The Government Affairs Committee monitors land development policies, environmental issues, building requirements, and other regulatory issues faced by the home building industry.  The committee tracks new rules, standards and fees as they are proposed by cities and counties within the region, as well as keeping the HBA membership aware of rule changes and educating local officials on the impact of their policy decisions.

  • Recruit and support political candidates
  • Implementation and regulation of PAC
  • Participation in relative LFUCG sessions
  • Disbursement of relative political material to membership
  • The committee researches issues and recommends advocacy positions to the Board of Directors and executes association policy on regulatory and legislative issues.
    • Meets the first Thursday of each month at 9AM.

Membership/Retention Committee
The goal of the Membership/Retention Committee is to help increase membership and encourage members doing business with other members.  Retaining new members is an important roll in the committee.

  • Increase membership & retention
  • Plan membership drives
  • Report progress and activities at Board and General Membership meetings
  • Conduct New Member Orientation program
  • Recognizes member participation in recruitment efforts
  • Helps HBA staff develop methods to maximize the membership value for all members

Getting involved in the Membership Committee is an excellent way to network and receive recognition!

Professional Standards
The goal of the Professional Standards Committee is to maintain the highest level of professionalism.

  • Conciliation process between homeowners and Builder and Remodeler members
  • Review procedures, letters, standards booklet, contracts and other forms
  • Builder/Remodeler educational compliance
  • Membership category review

Public Relations
The Public Relations committee develops and manages the external communications for the association, and coordinates the association’s involvement in community service projects.  The committee is charged with enhancing the HBA’s image and promoting contributions made to our community by the HBA and its members.
